Marking

I have been marking Year 10 coursework on abortion until my eyes are more blurred than clear.

And I still have more to go.

But what do they have to say for their conclusions ?

The coursework is in three parts. They have to describe Biblical and Church teachings about abortion, explain how Christian might put their beliefs about abortion into action, and respond to the statement "Abortion is never justified. Do you agree?"

Many of them come out as fairly pro-life. Quite a few have bought into the rape/incest argument, but others are adamantly opposed to any abortion. Still there are others that think they are pro-life, but make so many exceptions that they are just short of abortion on demand.

The amazing thing is the awful quality of the work. They have lots of the resources handed to them on a silver platter and lots of guidance on how to do their own research (which they never do). Most of them can't even insert a footnote.
