Memory Eternal

Not much time to blog tonight. Too many papers to mark. Only time to remember the 41st anniversary of the repose of Clive Staples Lewis. He may not have been big "O" Orthodox, but I know many have been surprised by joy when they embraced mere Christianity.

It's a shame that on this day, folks only remember where they were when they heard that a much lesser mortal, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, had been shot.

I have a great fondness for The Screwtape Letters, which all too accurately depict the myriad ways the devil works to tempt me in my life..........a work of genius.

Lewis prepared me for so much of what i encountered in Orthodoxy...Views of heaven and salvation specifically.

Thanks for reminding us less attentive. I shall be praying for him.

If Isaac the Syrian, who lived and died a Nestorian, can be a saint of the Church, then I figure that, rather than praying for CS Lewis, I should be asking him to pray for me. And I do.
