Species Cleansing

It can't be called ethnic cleansing, because it wasn't a matter of ethnicity. Every human was forceably removed from Diego Garcia. Thanks to Serge for pointing me to this scathing indictment of both US and UK long-standing foreign policy.

We no longer live in a democracy, we live in a sanitised totalitarian state governed by Uncle Tone. Makes me want to hurl.......

I've lived in police states - Saudi and Egypt for starters - and in comparison the UK and the US are heaven no matter how many lying rat bastard politicians inhabit London or Washington.

As for "human cleansing", well, we did that in St Kilda in 1930 long before Tony was born.

And Diego Garcia? No-one gives a damn, why should the government? The British public is only interested in mindless drivel on the television - if it Big Brother or David Beckham no-one actually cares. We are responsible for our governments, not the other way around.

I'm not saying I would prefer to live in Saudi or Egypt, but that doesn't make the wrongs of better governments right.

I absolutely agree with you that the government of the day is merely a reflection of the people of the day.

I agree with you, but until we actually have a real choice within the political system, many people won`t bother to vote, and we end up with what we have currently got.
BTW, Here in S Wales, you could stick a labour party rosette on a donkey, and quite a few people would vote for it............. the hold of the labour party is so strong.

What we need is a party which stands for a/true democracy and b/ common decency and morality ,which just might appeal to non-Christians as well as Christians.
I don`t think it will happen any time soon though.....
